Sodium Carboxy methyl Cellulose CMC is widely used in printing and dyeing and has higher cost performance compared with sodium alginate. With a higher degree of substitution, Sodium Carboxy methyl Cellulose CMC can replace most sodium alginate.In the textile industry, Sodium Carboxy methyl Cellulose CMC can act as the printing thickener. 

The printing paste of rayon fiber usually contains cleaning solvent with high boiling point, dye, water and enough thickening agents. Sodium Carboxy methyl Cellulose CMC is the thickening agent as well as the emulsifying agent, so it helps to uniformly mix the dye with high boiling point cleaning solvent with as well as to stabilize the dye suspension and thus to prevent the occurrence of sedimentation and the formation of foam in storage. 

As printing thickener, Sodium Carboxy methyl Cellulose CMC has the following features in the products.

According to the viscosity (molecular weight), there are 3 types: high viscosity (with the 1% solution viscosity of 450~500 CPS), medium viscosity (with the 1% solution viscosity of 300~400 cps), and low viscosity (with the 1% solution viscosity of 50 cps).
